On November 4^th, Sunday of parashas Toldos, with G-d's Help, the Second Annual Dinner of Toldos Yeshurun will take place. We have received the support not only of great American Rabbonim and Roshei Yeshivos, but also it is of special importance, the support of Russian-speaking Rabbis and community leaders in America, and, of course, all those who knew Rav Yitzchok Zilber zt"l and are familiar with the important work that Toldos Yeshurun does. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to all those who support us, our friends, and first of all, the Guests of Honor who took upon themselves the main load of work.

It is clear that the goal of every dinner is to raise funds. But we see our goal as a broader one. Last year's dinner, which went over very successfully on November 19^th, 2006, gathered about 300 Russian-speaking bnei Torah, and it seemed to us that they themselves were surprised – the Russian-speaking religious community is usually very dispersed. The consolidation under the idea to help the Russian-speaking Jewish community in Israel in the memory of Rav Yitzchok Zilber zt"l, united the Russian-speaking religious community of America as well.

We hope that this inspiration, this celebration of helping the Torah, will also take place this year.

More and more American Jews strive to develop the communities in Israel or to help particular study programs. In this year, we place a special emphasis on the Zevulun-Yissachar program, i.e. a concrete partnership between a donor and one particular avrech or a particular chavrusa whom he supports, committing to a small monthly sum given over a year

We hope that all our American friends will decide for themselves which part of this important partnership they will take upon themselves.

Jewish life is flourishing in America, and we are happy to have the opportunity to make our contribution to this – Rav Ben Tzion Zilber and Rav Asher Kushnir gave classes and seminars, and on the initiative of our friends from the West Coast, a mass distribution of CDs was organized in New York, thousands of Russian-speaking American Jews visit our website regularly, and so on. We are witnessing a rebirth in the Russian-speaking Jewish community all over the world – be it in Russia, Germany, the USA or Israel – and of course, this process is mutual and interconnected. Therefore, yes, the Jewish community of Israel is hoping for help from America – because Torah has no borders!
