The Mishnayos Siyum in the Memory of Reb Zev Wolfson z”l on the Day of his Shloshim
A siyum mishnayos took place in the Toldos Yeshurun yeshiva on the 25th of Elul, 5772, in the presence of many bachurim and avrechim of the Rabbinical kollel. The avrechim and students of the Toldos Yeshurun yeshiva had learned mishnayos for the elevation of the soul of Reb Zeev ben Avraham Wolfson z”l.
Rav Ben Tzion Zilber, spiritual leader of the Toldos Yeshurun organization, noted in his speech the importance of Torah study and the importance of learning Shas Mishnayos and Gemara for the elevation of a soul and thanked all the participating avrechim who took upon themselves the learning of Mishnayos in addition to the enormous learning schedule they are already carrying. Rav Zilber blessed everyone to grow higher and higher in Torah study and to continue bringing non-religious Russian-speaking Jews closer to Judaism.
R. Avraham Cohen, director of Toldos Yeshurun, pointed out in his speech that not only would the Toldos Yeshurun organization not have come to fruition in its tremendous size – numerous kollelim, the yeshiva and Rabbinical kollel where leaders of kiruv programs for Russian-speakers work, the website toldot.ru and other programs – all this would not exist without the selfless support of R. Zeev Wolfson z”l. But not only would our work with the Russians not exist – there would be no organization, no yeshiva, no seminars whatsoever for Russian-speakers. As is well-known, Zev Wolfson supported all the programs geared towards the return of Russian-speaking Jews to teshuvah. This means that all Russian-speaking Baalei Teshuvah owe him a great debt of gratitude. There is no doubt that the Russian-speaking religious society would not have been reborn without Zev Wolfson`s selflessness. And therefore, it is our small contribution to the gratitude towards this person are the siyum Mishnayos and the siyum of the Babylonian Talmud by the teachers and students of Toldos Yeshurun which iwill take place, with G-d’s help, on the yohrtzeit of Reb Zeev Wolfson`s passing in the Jerusalem Congress Hall on August 1, 2013, in the presence of thousands of Russian-speaking Baalei Teshuvah, to which we invite all readers of the website toldot.ru as well.
