Toldos Yeshurun Programs
Our main purpose is to help Russian-speaking immigrants acquire the basis of Jewish Tradition (see Lev LeShavim), to help all those who are interested in their roots find their connection to the Jewish people. For this purpose we have developed a network of evening programs of Torah study, with classes and chavrusos (study pairs) - please see the interactive map of our activities and also the table of our activities. We also assist with creating Russian-speaking religious communities in cities and towns where many new immigrants from the former Soviet Union reside, both for Russian-speaking immigrants in general, and for Jews having their common tradition and origin. For example, we help in formation of communities of Jews from Caucasus (see Caucasian communities), and we also try to help in formation of communities of Bukharian Jews (see Bukharian communities). In the strong, already advanced Russian-speaking communities there is a necessity for starting Russian-speaking minyans, synagogues. We try to support this process as much as we can (see Minyan). In addition, we also support and develop the Israeli network of classes for women (see Eshes Chayil). We also help to publish new books on Judaism and about the history of Soviet Jewry (see Toldos Publications) We opened a program of full-time Torah studies for young married Jewish men from the former Soviet Union (see Kollel) and for unmarried Jewish men (see Yeshiva) closely affiliated with the Mirrer Yeshiva, the most famous yeshiva in the whole world. We provide financial assistance for the members of our communities with loans and food gifts (see Gmach), as the worst problem of the 21-st century is shortage, and sometimes the total lack of heat, care, and mutual support between people.
