Kiruv programs

The main direction of Toldos Yeshurun's activities is the return of Russian-speaking Jews to Tradition and observance of Torah and mitzvos. This return depends to virtually 100% on two things: Regular Jewish learning and a close relationship and ongoing contact with religious families.

Toldos Yeshurun organizes and finances hundreds of Russian-language classes, evening chavrusa programs, one-day seminars and many other forms of learning for Russian-speaking immigrants in many Israeli cities. The continuous, at least weekly, learning of the Written and Oral Torah irreversibly convinces former atheists of the integrity of Jewish tradition.

Many hundreds of baalei Teshuvah who now observe Shabbos and Kashrus, have built true Jewish homes and gone on to learn in yeshivos and kollelim, have taken their first steps at the evening kiruv programs of Toldos Yeshurun.

It is here, in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, in his familiar Russian, together with one of the 350 highly qualified Russian-speaking Rabbis and lecturers, that the Jew from Russia discovers for himself the wealth and splendor, joy and radiance of Jewish tradition.

It is important to note that for hundreds of thousands of Jews, our website «Judaism and Russian Jews» has become the first opportunity to learn about their Jewish roots and basic concepts of Yiddishkeit.

Boruch Hashem, the movement of Russian Jews returning to Torah, founded and headed by Rav Yitzchok Zilber zt'l, is becoming irreversible, like a chain reaction, and more and more of our students themselves become Rabbis, teachers and organizers, bringing back to Judaism the Jews of the former Soviet Union who were violently torn away from it.
